Most travel within Hirafu Village is easily done on foot. In winter, renting a car is possible but not necessary for this itinerary and requires confidence in snowy conditions.

Ski/snowboard rentals, multi-day lift passes (for discounts), and popular restaurant reservations ( for fine dining) should be booked weeks in advance during peak season. Also book airport transfers (bus or private car).
Packing Essentials
High-quality thermal base layers, waterproof ski jacket/pants, gloves, neck gaiter, goggles, sunscreen (high SPF), swimsuit for onsen, and comfortable waterproof boots for walking in the village.
Total Budget
$770-920 (excluding international flights and ski pass/rental costs)
Customize Your Trip
Budget Version
Stay in a shared room at a pension or hostel in Hirafu. Cook some meals in your accommodation's kitchen, utilizing the Kutchan JA market for ingredients. Prioritize included breakfasts. Stick to budget-friendly onsen like Yukichichibu and enjoy ramen or curry for most meals.
Luxury Upgrade
Upgrade to a ski-in/ski-out suite at a top hotel like AYA Niseko or Higashiyama Niseko Village. Book private guiding for fresh tracks and backcountry access. Dine at exclusive restaurants like Kamimura every night and arrange for a private car and driver for all transfers.
Family-Friendly
Focus on the beginner-friendly areas of Grand Hirafu and Hanazono. Book group or private ski lessons for the kids. Visit the Niseko View Plaza for sledding and play areas. Choose accommodation with a kitchenette and consider a family onsen room at a hotel for privacy. The Kutchan trip is great for kids to experience a local town.
